In efforts to help provide opportunities for Winters community members to receive a coronavirus vaccination, Winters Healthcare and Winters Joint Unified School District are partnering to host a free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Shirley Rominger Intermediate School parking lot.
Winters JUSD school nurse Elizabeth Hilliard said the vaccination clinic is available to students ages 12 and up and all community members. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered in the drive-thru clinic. Hillard said people can also walk up if they do not have a vehicle. Participants are required to wait under observation for 15-30 minutes upon receiving the vaccine.
Individuals who are under the age of 18 must arrive with a legal guardian. Consent forms will be available at the vaccine clinic or a completed consent form can be brought in hand.
Copies of consent forms and a Winters JUSD COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic FAQ were sent home with students on Friday. Additional copies of consent forms are available prior to the event in the office of Winters JUSD school sites.
A physician will be available on-site the day of the vaccine clinic. Questions can be sent in ahead of time by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or can be called in to 530-795-6130, ext. 2230.
