Winters Middle School Principal Dawn Delorefice sent an alert at 12:24 p.m. on Friday afternoon to inform families that a fire alarm had gone off. Delorefice confirmed there had not been a fire on site and that all students had been accounted for and were safe.

Delorefice said the alarm went off during the break at 11:45 a.m., and students directly proceeded to the designated emergency areas. She complimented students and staff members on their swift response to the situation.

“It is clear our drills have been effective in teaching students what to do in the event of an alarm. Thank you to everyone for working together as a team,” Delorefice said.
