In the past week the Winters Police Department has received multiple reports of vehicles burglarized throughout the city. The reported incidents took place on Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 18. While the majority of the incidents involve vehicles where the windows were left open or the doors were unlocked, some did involve forcible entry into locked vehicles. The stolen items included electronics, tools, cash and personal items. The police recommend always locking vehicles, not leaving valuables in unattended vehicles and securing items from view. The police are currently looking at video from home security systems. They ask that those with such systems check the footage from their cameras between the hours of 11 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 6 a.m. on Sept. 18. Anyone with video footage that may be relevant to the investigation should email the department at tips.winters@winterspolice.org.]]>
