The Winters Police Department named Officer Alan Pinette as the Winters Police Department Officer of the Year 2020.
Winters PD posted part of the nomination in their media release: “Officer Pinette has been an Officer with the Winters Police Department since 2014. He is an FTO, on the Bicycle Enforcement Team, a Cadet Adviser, a Taser Instructor, a Firearms Instructor and the Narcan Liaison with Yolo County Emergency Medical Services.”
Pinette oversees the Winters PD Cadet program. He volunteers his time to help train and mentor several youth members of our community. He directs the program and schedules the Cadets to assist the Department with special events. Due to Pinette’s selfless gift of his time and resources, he was nominated for the Meritorious Service Ribbon.
On July 21, 2019, Pinette along with two other Winters PD officers administered CPR and placed the AED electrodes during a medical emergency. Through the direct actions taken by Pinette and his direction to other officers on scene, Pinette was nominated for the Lifesaving Award.
“Officer Pinette comes to work excited to be a member of our organization and is upbeat and happy. His positive attitude contributes well to our Department and his pride comes through when he speaks to members of our community,” the press release stated. “Officer Pinette has shown that he is committed to our Department and sets a high example of what all our employees should strive to be.”
