Solano County authorities are investigating a shooting early Tuesday in rural Winters that left a man injured. Details of the shooting remain unclear because the victim has not been cooperative with authorities, Solano County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Daniel “Cully” Pratt said Wednesday in response to questions from McNaughton Media, parent company of the Winters Express. The man was shot and had injuries authorities describe as not being life-threatening. He was treated for those injuries and released. The victim’s age and city of residence were not released. Authorities suspect the shooting happened shortly after midnight on the 4000 block of Putah Creek Road. Pratt said there was no indication as of Wednesday afternoon that the shooting in rural Solano County is related to other shootings since last week that have left three people dead and three others injured in Vacaville and Fairfield. Michael Hawthorne Jr., 21, was found shot shortly after 2:20 a.m. June 11 inside a parked car on the 500 block of Ronin Drive in Vacaville. He died the next day. The California Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting Saturday that left one man dead. Solano CHP units responded shortly after 6:05 p.m. to a call of a traffic collision with injuries on eastbound Interstate 80 at Orange Drive. Officers who arrived at the scene found a man who had been shot and killed, and a bullet-riddled pickup truck. Authorities have not yet released the man’s name but unconfirmed reports indicate he was a local rap music artist from Sacramento who has strong ties to Vacaville. Police in Vacaville are investigating a shooting that was reported at approximately 2:50 p.m. Sunday in the area of Alamo Drive and La Cruz Lane. The shooting left one victim with injuries police deemed not to be life-threatening. The victim’s gender, age and city of residence have not been released. Cameron Fritzjames Wittmann, 18, died and two teens were hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight Tuesday in the area of the 1000 block of First Street in Fairfield.
