Waggoner Elementary School is hosting in-person tours and family information nights for the first time since the pandemic shut town gatherings in 2020.

The Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Family Night is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

The Kindergarten Family Night is on Thursday, April 7 from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

At both events, families and their children will have an opportunity to view the TK and Kindergarten classrooms in-person to become somewhat familiar with the classroom layout and playground. After the tours, families will have a chance to ask questions about the programs and to pick up a registration packet.

Children who turn 5 years old by Sept. 1 are eligible to register for Kindergarten. Children who turn 5 years old between Sept. 2 and Feb. 2, 2023 are eligible for next year’s TK class.

Waggoner Elementary updates are available online or on Facebook @WaggonerDolphins.

Families who have questions should contact Nicole Brace in the Waggoner office at 530-795-6121.

The 2022-23 school year is the beginning of the state’s Universal Transitional Kindergarten and Universal Prekindergarten Plan rollouts.

The main goals are to address childcare shortages and to provide a foundation of mixed-delivery programs for preschool-aged children.
