Winters Friends of the Library Press Release
As of mid-February, five teams have announced that they will compete in the Winters Friends of the Library’s Quiz Show, to be held Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Winters Community Center. There is only room for five more teams.
The Quiz Show is a fundraiser for the library that consists of three rounds of questions in 12 categories ranging from sports and games, to literature and poetry, to Winters trivia. Teams of five compete for a $200 prize and their names engraved on the perpetual trophy that is housed at the library.
Teams who sign up at the Winters Community Library by the Feb. 23 pay an entrance fee of $100 or pay $125 at the door to join in the fun. Individuals who wish to compete but don’t have a team, may sign up at the library until Feb. 23 for $20 or at the door for $25.
People interested in being in the audience and rooting for a team, may come and watch for a $5 donation at the door. Refreshments will be served and wine and beer available for purchase. All funds benefit our local library.
What state has the lowest High point? Who is the Prime Minister of Britain? Who was Uther Pendragon’s famous son? Who was Mayor of Winters before Bill Biasi? These are the kinds of questions asked in the game.
