Public Safety Power Shut-off on Oct. 9 conducted by Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). Winters JUSD Superintendent Todd Cutler called the Express to confirm the Winters High School and Winters Middle School sites had power, while the Waggoner and Rominger sites did not during the power shut-off. The WHS and WMS sites will follow their regular, full school day bell schedule on Thursday. According to Cutler, the school district was informed the school sites that had power on Wednesday would maintain it for Thursday, and to expect power to be restored at all sites by the afternoon on Friday, Oct. 11. Cutler said food services would continue to run out of the Waggoner kitchen on Thursday, which is running off of generators until power is restored to the campus. Student transportation and the After School Program will continue as normal on Thursday. Cutler said they will continue to monitor the situation on Thursday and will do another assessment following the school day and once they have received more information regarding power restoration to the elementary school sites. All communication from the school district will be sent through:

• A text message to families.
• On the Winters JUSD website,
• On the Winters JUSD Facebook page,
School sites without power each have a dedicated phone line that will be functioning. Winters JUSD is asking families to avoid calling in to those sites unless there is an an emergency in order to keep the phone lines open. ]]>
