February event Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and it’s a great excuse for the Winters Senior Foundation to host another party. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2 p.m, at the Winters Police and Fire training room; 700 Main St. Come on your own or with a significant other. Bring your best memories of the times of our lives. Get set for the Winters Senior Foundation’s own version of “Trivia!” Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. Claude Rohwer and the Berryessa Gold Barbershop Quartet will entertain us with their best version of some old favorites. As always, there will be plenty of goodies and plenty of fun. March event Mark your calendars for the WSF Annual Spring Luncheon at noon, on Wednesday, March 18th, at the Winters Community Center. Our event is always free to all who are over age 55. The only requirement is an RSVP. Local culinarians will amaze you with their soups & chili. The menu will also include salads, dessert, and live music. A brief presentation by the Yolo County Census will explain critical importance about the upcoming Census. There will be folks there to assist you with questions about completing your census form. April event Save the date for the April General Meeting held on Wednesday the 15th, 2:00 – 4:00 at the Police and Fire training room, 700 Main Street. Woody’s Wonderful singers from Shirley Rominger Intermediate School will give us a few songs to celebrate Spring. We’ll also have a conversation with meteorologist Jenae Clay, who is completing her Phd studies at UCD. She’ll share interesting facts about her field of study, and the importance of meteorology in our every day lives. Senior resources Winters’ newest senior community apartments, Blue Mountain Terrace, is now under construction. The 63 beautiful and affordable apartments will allow Winters seniors to age in place and enjoy the Winters’s community.
