Christian Hernandez is in eighth grade at Winters Middle School and is Athlete of the Week. Hernandez currently competes on the school track team. While Hernandez was on the team last year, he competed in four events, placing very well in all his events. In the Long Jump Hernandez placed fourth, he also ran the mile, 800 meter and 4×100 relay, placing second in all. This year Hernandez plans to compete in all four events and improve on his times and distance from last year. Hernandez played on the Soccer team this year, as well. Coach Geraldo Sevrin had this to say about Hernandez, “He is a tremendous leader of a team with great skill and his understanding of the game. He is always ready to work in practice and help his teammates with any issues or guidance. In games he was ready to get the team motivated and he is respected by his teammates and coaches.” Hernandez has been a three sport athlete during his three years at the middle school. ]]>
