Gio Jimenez, a sophomore at Winters High School, is Pisani’s Athlete of the Week. Athletic Director and varsity coach Daniel Ward said Jimenez may be having one of the best sophomore seasons in the history of WHS. Jimenez was brought up to varsity after football camp to play linebacker and to gain some depth at running back. And, he has exceeded all expectations. In the last two games of the season, Jimenez carried the ball 46 times for 292 yards and two touchdowns. “He leads the team in carries, yards and rushing touchdowns, plus he is our leading tackler on defense. He has great instincts and he gives everything he has every Friday night. He has quickly become one of the best players in the SVL regardless of grade,” said Ward.
