The Winters High School Junior Varsity basketball team had one game this week. The Warriors played a home non-conference game on Monday, Dec. 16, against Vacaville Christian. The Warriors dominated in rebounds, with 18 offensive rebounds to Vacaville’s five. The final score was 45-33 and the game resulted in a win. “Our shots weren’t falling, but we dominated the boards,” said Coach Jon Davis. “That led to us getting 52 shots while they only had 30. Basketball is a game of numbers. You don’t have to shoot great if you get 60 percent more shots.” The scoring leaders were Yahir Sanchez with 13 points, followed closely by David Reyes with 11 and Diego Valencia with 10. The score was closed out by Matt Moore, Carson Lowrie and Kadin Pease.   Davis stated, “As a coach I love games like this because they reinforce the importance of simple fundamentals like boxing out and rebounding.” He went on to say, “I can’t say enough about the role that our boys have played on our team. This is the best rebounding team I have ever had.” Their next game is on Tuesday, Dec. 29. The complete roster and schedule is up on  The Junior Varsity Boys basketball team will travel to Petaluma and play against the St. Vincent De Paul High School team. Then their next home game will be on Saturday, Jan. 5, against Woodland High School, during the “Find-A-Cure” Night game.]]>
