Girls soccer: Feather River tournament

The Winters High School Girls Soccer team traveled to Oroville, California to compete in the Feather River Soccer Tournament. In the tournament the Lady Warriors played in four games, two on Friday and two on Saturday. This series of games kicked off the soccer season for the Winters Warriors girls soccer team. While away at the tournament the Lady Warriors sustained a minor Injury. Corinne Mckenna Spranged her toe, and had to sit out the other three games of the tournament. This put the Lady Warriors down a power forward and key player.  Although with the team continued to play without Mckenna. Fatima Guzman received a special honor for her performance in the Marysville game. Guzman was named the player of the game, posted on Maxpreps. Coach Olivas stated “Fatima blocked many shots against a tough opponent.” The first game was against Marysville High School, the game resulted in a win, 2-0. In the Marysville game the two goals were made by Molly Moore and Vivian Del Toro. The Warriors second game, they played against Live Oak High School, the game resulted in a loss, 1-4. The next two games were  on Saturday, the Warriors played XXX and won X-X, later in the day they played XXX and lost the score was X-X. There will be two games next week for the Girls Soccer team. The next game will be on Tuesday, December 4,   were the Winters Warriors will host St. Helena. On Friday December 7, the Lady Warriors will travel to Esparto. Both are non-conference games.]]>
