Girls Varsity basketball has a busy week

The Winters High School girls Varsity Basketball team played in two games this week. They hosted St. Helena in the first game of the week. It was a non-conference game. The Warriors played strong in the first three quarters, keeping the game at about nine points. They made good use of the court and were able to open up shots. During the second half of the game St. Helena came back to the game with great fury, controlling the court and rebounds also with  many fouls on Makynzie Tuttle. The game ended in a loss. The score was 51-23. The scoring leaders were Tuttle, Audrey Saecho and Bianca Mora with six points each. Annie Ramos, Valerie Soto and Aide Aguilera rounded out the remaining score. Saecho had one shot from outside the three point line. Later in the week the girls Varsity Basketball team traveled to Esparto for a Sacramento valley league game. The Warriors were defeated by a team that was faster and stronger. The Warriors point leader again was  Ramos with two three point shots. The final score was 56-28. The scoring leader was Saecho with 11 points each. One of the buckets Saecho made was from the three point line. Ramos, Tuttle, Mora and Aguilera rounded out the remaining score. The team will play three games next week. The next game will be on Monday, Dec.10, when the Warriors will travel to Woodland and play Pioneer High School. On Tuesday, Dec.11, the Warriors will host East Nicholas. Later in the week the Warriors will travel to Rio Vista on Thursday, Dec.13.]]>
