The Winters High School Varsity Boys Basketball team hosted the Williams Yellow Jackets, to play in the first game of the season, which was a non-conference game. The Warriors played well as a team, but were competing against a team that was faster and had the height advantage. The Warriors played hard, but the game ended in a loss the score was 57-32. Jeremy Alberg had 20 points against Williams. Jason Cobaugh and Ethan Berg had five points each,  together with Ryan stone and Reuban Valencia each having two points for the game. The Warrriors had four offensive rebounds and 14 defensive, it was difficult at best to keep control of the ball. The Warriors made a strong effort, but were dominated in speed, strength and height. later on in the week the Warriors hosted the Buckingham Knights from Vacaville. The Warriors second game this week was a morale booster.  The Warriors played with good team work and controlled the court their advantage and it was a win, the score was 54-41. Jeremy Alberg had 23 points against Buckingham. Reuban Valencia had 13 points, with Jordan Cobaugh’s five points and Ethan Berg’s four points, the Warriors controlled the scoring in the game.  The Warriors maintained control of the rebounds with seven offensive and 12 defensive. The Warriors played a better all around game after their defeat earlier in the week. There will be two games next week for the boys Varsity Basketball team. The next game will be on Tuesday, December 4, were the Winters Warriors will travel to St. Helena.  On Thursday, December 7, the Warriors will travel to Roseville for a three day tournament. ]]>
