Winters soccer matches up against Sutter, Fairfield

Women’s soccer
On Tuesday, Dec. 7 the Winters High School women’s varsity soccer team lost their home non-conference game against Sutter High School by a score of 4-1.

Makayla Garland and Mikenzie Hapworth-Eldridge both worked extremely hard to stop Sutter from scoring but at the end of the day Huskies’ offense was able to get past the Warriors and came out victorious.

While the final result of the game wasn’t what the girls had hoped for, Yarethzy Sanchez was able to score one point for the Warriors off an assist from Alondra Molina. Sanchez and Molina are two of the captains this season for the Warriors and have been proving themselves to be valuable assets to their team.

Ruby Campos lead the Warriors is steals followed closely by Anahi Garcia, Ava Skinner and Isabella Mehl.

The varsity women’s squad played their second game of the week on Friday, Dec. 10 at their away game against Fairfield High School Falcons and won by a score of 3-0.

Men’s soccer
On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the WHS men’s varsity soccer team won their home non-conference game against Sutter by a score of 4-0.

On Friday, Dec. 10 the Warriors won their away non-conference game against the Fairfield Falcons by a score of 2-1.
