The past four years, Dorothy has resided at Stollwood Convalescent Home in Woodland. The daughter of Harry and Martha Strunk. Sister of Earle (Washington), Lester (California), Anna Mae (California), Pearl (Minnesota), Robert (Indiana), Dale (Oregon), and Goldie (California). Dorothy attended school in southern California and moved to Chowchilla following a “love letters” romance and marriage to Clinton Jones on December 27, 1945. They farmed in Chowchilla before moving to Atwater in 1954, and then to Winters in 1968. Along with her husband, they raised seven children, several foster children, and opened their home to anyone who needed a place to stay. Dorothy will always be remembered for her loving heart and helping hands. Dorothy professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and cheerfully served Him. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Winters for over 40 years. She taught Sunday school, was an officer for the Women’s Ministries dept. and also served in the Seniors’ Ministry. After her husband’s passing in 2009, she moved to Woodland to live with her daughters, Christine and Janice. She then attended Pathway Assembly of God Church. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the United States. Her favorite place was the ocean shore and took many walks along the beach. Even though she enjoyed traveling and camping, she enjoyed being with family the most. There were never enough little ones in the house, so she also enjoyed babysitting for many, many years. There was always enough room for one more in the house, or at the dinner table. Surviving family members are her daughters, Kellie McCammon of Phoenix, Oregon; Patricia Avann (husband Dave) of Buckeye, Arizona; Janice Rominger (husband Tom) of Woodland; and Christine Zarate (husband Andy) of Vacaville. Sons, Clifford Jones (wife Susan) of Warm Beach, Washington; Roy Jones (wife Chris) of Winters; and Timothy Jones (wife Becky) of Kuna, Idaho. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren. No services will be held at this time. 1. Mrs. Jones was one of the kindest and most wonderful persons that I have known. She was the first day care provider for my daughter, Shannon, and took loving care of her. She will be miss by so many, but she is dancing in heaven with Mr. Jones. God Bless them both. God Bless their family and friends. Donarae Reynolds and Shannon Kincanon.
