John G. Ramos passed into a heavenly reunion on Oct. 7, 2016 at his ranch home of treasured views and gatherings.

Born in Suisun City on March 31, 1939, as the son of the late Lorenzo Ramos and Carmen Gill Ramos. John grew up on the family orchards in the Olive Pleasants Valley district and graduated from Winters High School, where he excelled in baseball and football.

He achieved a SP4 ranking and decorations for rifle expert, sharpshooter and good conduct within the US Army Corp of Engineers. After a certified apprenticeship in carpentry, John simultaneously performed as both a master carpenter and local rancher as he farmed orchards including with his brothers, others and independently. He thrived in diving for abalone, on hunting or fishing trips and sports events or watching with others.

In the past years, he regularly attended Latin Masses at St. Stephen The First Martyr as well as meetings of the Order of Elks. Loyally and consistently John supported and encouraged others.

John is survived by sister, Anita Eral, son Matthew Ramos, granddaughter Nicole Williams plus aunt Jessie A. Gill, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many valued friends.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers: James, Arthur and Lawrence, plus nephew L. Dean Ramos.

Services are planned at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 511 Main Street in Winters, on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m., with burial to follow on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m. and a lunch reception at the parish hall.
