Laura Gale of Winters passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. Laura was born on December 13 in Denison, Texas, where her father, Robert was stationed. Laura was the oldest child of Robert and Annette Gale. The family moved back to Robert’s home town of Winters in 1946 when she was a year old. In 1960 the family moved to Davis to the house their father built. Laura quickly became popular with her sparkling personality. Laura became a drum majorette in her sophomore year in high school until she graduated in 1963. She remained friends with many of her high school classmates and attended all of her class reunions. She then went on to attend cosmetology school in Sacramento. She began working at Town & College Style salon in Davis where she rapidly built a large clientele. In 1990 she became owner of that salon and changed the name to Dimensions in Hair, where she remained until her passing. In 1996 her father remodeled the house that he was born and grew up in. Laura became the proud owner. She instantly assumed the role of matriarch of the family and enjoyed entertaining. She hosted many parties for both friends and family. Laura was an excellent cook, everyone loved gathering around her table. Laura loved traveling. She enjoyed camping, small trips to Dillon Beach and traveling up the coast to Oregon. She was preceded by her mother Annette, her brother Mark and her father Robert. She is survived by her brother Allen and her sister Robin. She was loved by many friends and family. Laura had a generous heart and a beautiful personality that reached so many. She will be remembered and greatly missed by those who knew her. A celebration of life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at St. Anthony’s Parish, 511 Main St. in Winters.]]>
