Marilyn Clair Maier, age 79, died at home in Winters on Dec. 20. Born in Monterey, Marilyn was a 68-year resident of Winters. Preceeded in death by her parents, Rev. Stewart and Eva Potter, brother Stewart Potter, children Gerald Maier Jr. and Cheryl Maier Andrews, Marilyn retired from the Winters joint Unified School District.

Marilyn was an avid reader. She also enjoyed gardening, playing bridge and spending time at the beach. She was a member of Beta Alpha Beta and Fort Nightly. She is survived by children David Maier (Edwina), Diane Parent, Thelma Simmons (Randall), siblings Marjorie Graf (John), James Potter (Kay), 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at noon Thurday, Dec. 29 at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 205 Russell St. in Winters, CA 95694. A reception will immediately follow the service at St. Anthony Parish Hall, 511 Main Street in Winters.
