Nell Adelene Rhodes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the age of 88. Born on April 19, 1928, in Stigler, Oklahoma, Nell was the fourth of seven children born to Charles Brady and Grace May Stout.

On Oct. 2, 1954, Nell was married to James Kenneth Rhodes. Following her husband’s career in plastering, they moved from Oklahoma to Santa Ana, where they raised two children together.

In 1979 Nell and James moved to Vacaville, and later settled in Winters.

Nell loved to crochet and paint ceramics. She always gave great advice and loved to tell stories about the past.

She is preceded in death by her husband James, and siblings Marie, Maxine, Clayton, CB, Kenneth (Cotton) and Pauline.

Nell is survived by her son Steve Rhodes and spouse (Sandy), daughter Phyllis Rhodes; granddaughters and their spouses, Stephanie (Richard), Leslie (Deda) and Danielle (Aiden); and great granddaughters Shaylyn and Bree.

Nell was laid to rest alongside her husband James at the Winters Cemetery at a private ceremony on March 13, 2017.

She will be greatly missed.
