Arturo De La Cruz, 51, from Winters, Calif. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. A memorial service and celebration of life was held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St Anthony’s Catholic Church at 511 Main St in Winters.

Arturo (Tulo) was born on Aug. 7, 1970 in Davis Calif. to Juan and Zeferina De La Cruz. He was a lifelong residence of Winters. Graduated from Winters High School in 1988 where he excelled in baseball — where he still holds the record of 20 strikeouts in a single game. He also led the Winters Warrior baseball team in to win the “Northern State Championship” in 1988. He played with his family softball team which he helped win numerous of championships.

Arturo worked at Ron Dupratt Ford in Dixon, Calif. for 30 years as an Auto Journeyman painter. He was an avid comic book reader, collected action figures and baseball cards. His other hobbies were going to the Halloween corn maze, haunted houses, drinking stout beer, listening to “true crime” podcast and watching classic movies — some of his favorites were “Grease,” “The Wizard of Oz” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

He had a soft-spot for all kinds of pets, especially turtles, dogs and cats and had a great liking to moo cows. He was also a sports fanatic. His favorite teams were The Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves and the Chicago Bulls.

Arturo is survived by his mother Zeferina De la Cruz; significant other of 24 years Maria Pacheco; brothers Martin, Raul, Ruben and Jose De La Cruz. Sister-in-laws Emilia and Claudia De la Cruz. He had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his father Juan De La Cruz, sister Maria Del Refugio, and his four-legged friend Hoagy.
