Frank Vasquez Valenzuela passed away suddenly at his home in Winters on May 12, 2022 at the age of 88. Frank was born on Oct. 21, 1933 in Mesa, Ariz. on Bigby’s Ranch to Fernando and Matilde Valenzuela. Frank served in the US Army after graduating his school. He married to his wife Marie on May 5, 1957 – they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this month. Together they raised three sons James, Greg and Darrell. He was a farmer in Winters since 1960.

Frank is survived by his wife, Marie Portillo Valenzuela (married 65 years); his son Darrell Valenzuela; grandchildren Angelina Mink (Jerry), Christina Curt (Ryan), James Valenzuela, Justin Valenzuela, and Holly Arredondo (Pedro); and 17 great grandchildren. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Matilde Valenzuela; and his sons James and Greg.

Frank was a selfless, kind-hearted man who loved all around him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors and could often be found riding his bike or on a walk through the walnut orchards of Citrona Farms where he lived and worked until his retirement. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
