It has been one year since we lost our loving wife and mother, Mary Tufveson. At this time, we would like to reflect on her life and her love here on earth with us.

Mary was completely devoted to God and her family. Her love of children was apparent in her life’s work. She was a special education aide within the Fairfield-Suisun school district for over 20 years. She also volunteered her time in her church nursery and for Vacation Bible school. Once retired, she was overjoyed at the opportunity to provide daycare for her beloved granddaughter Sophy Tufveson.

Mary’s exuberant laugh and kind spirit endeared her to many. Her native American Indian heritage, of the Pueblo and Apache tribes, was something she was fiercely proud of. Mary delighted in life. Throughout it, she found true unconditional love, and raised a close and loving family.

She is survived by her husband and best friend, John Tufveson. Her four children: Maria Mendez, Cathy Lujan-Tufveson, Sean (Caroline) Tufveson and Kim Tufveson. And her cherished grandchildren Jaime (Jr.) Mendez, Jose Valdivia, Jeremy Lujan, Jonathan Sandoval and Sophy Tufveson.

Rest in paradise sweet angel. We know that you watch over all of us now. Your physical presence is greatly mourned, but your spirit lives on through us all and in our cherished memories.

No services were held due to the pandemic, however friends wishing to honor Mary are invited to donate in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
