Obituary: Mary Juanita Vieu Carpenter

Mary was born Oct. 18, 1938 to Red and Julia ( Piezzi) Vieu. She entered into death Nov. 27, at her home in Rodeo with her loving daughter Darlene by her side.

She was raised on the family ranch in the town of Monticello. She went to school in Monticello and high school in Winters, but the Lake Berryessa Dam caused the destruction of the town and her family had to move. She graduated high school from Esparto High.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Red and Julia Piezzi, grandparents Theodore Mark and Mary Juanita Vieu, her baby sister, older brother Ted Vieu and her husband Laneal Carpenter of 38 years. She is survived by her daughters: Darlene, Mary Lynnette ( Bill ) Hoole, stepson Ted Carpenter. Grandchildren: Mary Sarah (Paul) Whitehouse, Bill ( Hollie) Hoole, Beth Hoole, great-granddaughter Vivienne Hoole.  She is also survived by her brother Victor Vieu, her nieces and nephews and many friends that were like family.

Graveside services will be held in Monticello Public Cemetery at Spanish Flats, Lake Berryessa at 1 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2021.
