Ruben Valencia passed away suddenly at Mercy General in Sacramento on June 19, 2016, one day before his 65th birthday.

Ruben was born June 20, 1951, in Texas. He was the fourth of five children born to Rodolfo and Francisca Valencia.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo and Francisca Valencia, and his sister, Mary Rivas.

Ruben is survived by: his wife, Laureen; his children, Ruben, Rudy and Francisca; his brothers, Rudy and Bob; his sister, Rosi; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruben moved to Winters with his family where he attended elementary and high school.

Directly upon graduating Winters High, Ruben enlisted into the Army. After his return, he went to work for many years as a correctional officer at the medical facility in Vacaville. After leaving there, he worked in construction and later worked for National Linen.

Ruben returned to school and upon completion, worked as a safety officer in both Woodland Health Care and Basalite.

Ruben was a member of the Tracy Loyal Order of the Moose, the Moose Legion, as well as the American Legion.

Ruben loved sports, especially softball, golf, pool and horseshoes.

Ruben made many lifelong friends and touched many people throughout his life. He is well known for his humor, as well as his sarcasm. Ruben was the guy who was always there to lend a helping hand. If he had it and you needed it, he gave it to you.

Ruben was loved by so many. Ruben is going to be greatly missed by both family and friends.

Church services will be held on July 8, 2016, at St. Anthony’s Church at 11 a.m.

Celebration of Life will follow after services at their hall. There will be a potluck, so everyone bring your favorite dish. William “Bill” Stith, 83, was born on Sept. 24, 1932 in Arbuckle, and passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 11, 2016.

Bill grew up in Winters and graduated from Vacaville High School. He attended UC Berkley before serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Vacaville Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Rotary Club. He was the third generation owner of Stith Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Vacaville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland L. and Lurline F. Stith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Louise, children Leland, Curtis and wife Casey, Debbie and husband Mark, and Paul and wife Marina; grandchildren Billy and wife Collene, Alyssa, Emily, Anna, Sara and Lea; great-grandchildren Isaac, Ethan and Xavier; and sister Carol Zahn.

Visitation was on Thursday, June 16, and a service was held on Friday, June 17, at McCune Garden Chapel. Burial will be Friday, June 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
