In our most recent election on June 5 of this year, out of 3,699 registered voters in Winters, 1,407 voted, which is a turnout of 38 percent of registered voters (information at www.yoloelections.org/election-returns).  As a community, we can do so much better.  Regardless of your party or political leanings, it’s important to take part. Elections where the president is not on the ballot, such as this one on November 6, tend to have lower participation, so, if you’re not a regular voter, now is a good time to start becoming one.   If you know someone who misses elections, encourage them to vote in this one and to keep doing so. Our system can only work well if we’re all involved. BRIAN BELLAMY]]>
