Letters: Support Winters Farm to School on BDOG

Support Local Journalism

Winters Farm to School is proud to be part of this year’s Big Day of Giving on May 5. Big Day of Giving (BDOG), is hosted and organized by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, is an annual 24-hour giving challenge to help over 600 local nonprofits raise funds for their programs. The funds raised make a huge difference in Winters — and will particularly this year as we recover financially from two years of the pandemic.

By donating to this year’s Big Day of Giving, donors will help Winters Farm to School fulfill our mission: to raise funds to provide fresh, local produce, fruits and nuts for our children’s school food program; to educate children about the positive, long-term health benefits of healthy eating habits; and, to reconnect children to the rich, deeply rooted agricultural heritage in the community.

Please mark May 5 on your calendars. You can give at www.bigdayofgiving.org/wintersfarmtoschool, or go to our community’s link to all Winters-specific nonprofits participating in this year’s BDOG at www.bdog-winters.org. Donors who wish to pledge ahead of the 24-hour challenge can schedule their donations starting April 21 by also going online to www.bigdayofgiving.org or www.bdogwinters.org.

We sincerely thank you for your support.
