Letters: You are not alone

A Winters Express Letter to the Editor

Our little town has suffered so much loss this summer. Kids who had their whole lives ahead of them were taken too soon. I may not have known these individuals personally but I know the darkness that comes along with a loss of this magnitude. You are not alone! For those directly affected — lean on this town and lean on your family and your friends. It’s OK to not be OK. Grief isn’t something you can overcome alone — it’s something that must be acknowledged, something that must take physical form. Don’t be afraid to be angry or overwhelmed with sadness and confusion. Meet it head on, feel it, let yourself absorb it. My heart breaks for our community. If you don’t have someone to listen or lean on — message me. I will answer! And if I can’t do what is needed, I will fight to find someone who can.
