Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (AQMD) invites local students to enter the 2020 Clean Air Calendar contest.  The contest is a fun way for kids to learn more about air quality and share their ideas for protecting the environment. This year’s theme is:  Why I Care About Clean Air. Twelve student winners will be selected to receive a $30 Amazon gift card, a Certificate of Achievement, recognition in a future press release and their artwork featured in the 2020 Clean Air Calendar.   This annual contest is free and open to students who live in the District; this includes all of Yolo County and the northeastern part of Solano County that includes Dixon, Rio Vista and Vacaville.   To be considered, artwork must:

  • reflect this year’s theme: why I care about clean air.
  • be horizontal on standard 8 ½  x 11 paper.
  • be original and created using only colored pencil, pen, crayon and/or paint. Digital artwork or photography will not be accepted.
  • include the student’s name, grade, school, teacher’s name and the student’s full address and phone number on the back (to receive the final printed calendar).
All entries must be submitted by Friday, May 10, 2019 to the District office, located at 1947 Galileo Court, Suite 103 in Davis, CA.  For more information, contact Public Information Officer Anna Champe at (530) 757-3657 or achampe@ysaqmd.org.
