Are those unwanted critters and bugs getting between you and your garden produce? The Hanna & Herbert Bauer Memorial Garden is hosting a free class on integrated pest management, which is a low cost and natural approach to reducing unwanted pests in your garden. This class will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:15-6:30 p.m.
This class will be taught by Barbara Ohlendorf, a Yolo County University of California master gardener. Participants will learn how to identify beneficial and unwanted pests, determine if pests are becoming a problem and learn about natural methods that are used to control problem pests. There will be time to ask questions and discuss common pest problems in our region.
Pre-registration by June 25 is required for the class. To register, contact David Linebarger at 530-666-8429 firstname.lastname@example.org. The garden is located at 137 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland, behind the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency Bauer Building.
This class is free to all and is part of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency’s commitment to providing education that can help residents eat fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Free gardening classes are offered throughout the year at the community garden. To learn more about garden activities and classes, visitwww.yolocounty.org/garden.
Participants are encouraged to dress for warm weather and bring water. In the event of extreme heat, the class will be moved inside.
