September events with UCCE Master Gardeners

Join UCCE Yolo County Master Gardeners on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Davis Central Park gardens. The location is the corner of B St. and Third St., Davis. Yolo County has climate different from Northern Europe, but there are many hardy bulbs that will work in our climate zone. Learn which bulbs will grow in Yolo County, and when to plant. Saturday, Sept. 14: Wildlife loves a messy garden A free workshop on gardening to encourage wildlife by UCCE Yolo County Master Gardeners will be at the Esparto Regional library from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14.  The location is 17065 Yolo Ave.  Learn why a messy garden is beneficial as a home to wildlife during all times of the year. Sunday, Sept. 15: Gardening forum Join us for a free workshop on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2-4 p.m. at the Mary L. Stephens Library located at 315 E. 14th St., Davis.  Meet in the Children’s Area Conference Room.  UCCE Yolo County Master Gardeners will discuss planning fall garden projects, maintenance, irrigation and mulching, and what to plant now.   A GARDENING SALE – September 15, 2019 Sunday, Sept. 15: Gardening sale This is a tag sale from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 70 Cottonwood, Woodland. There will be garden items, gently used tools, garden art books, plants, bulbs, crafts and more for sale.  There will be two presentations by UCCE Master Gardeners during the sale. At 1:15 p.m. learn handy hints about garden tools. From 2:15 p.m. learn about hardy succulents. This event is a fundraiser for the UCCE Master Gardeners program.  ]]>
