Winters City Manager Kathleen Salguero Trepa announced in a City Manager Update that the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company has scheduled a Public Safety Power Shutoff event in Yolo County for Thursday, Oct. 14 starting as early as 2 a.m.
The area are primarily around Lake Berryessa, western Winters and the Capay Valley, are the same as the PSPS event that occurred on Monday. Trepa said about 500 accounts were impacted and de-energized due to the PSPS event. She said in addition to the planned PSPS event there may be other outages due to wind damage.
Trepa said during Monday’s wind storm, the City lost power at the East Street sewer station for several hours due to damage to a transformer. However, PG&E was able to restore power relatively quickly and the city’s back up generator maintained service during the power interruption.
Community Resource Centers will be opened at the PG&E training facility off Grant Avenue from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. An additional CRC will be available for impacted residents in Capay Valley at the Post Office in Guinda (7575 CA-16 in Guinda) for the same timeframe.
