Do you remember how much fun you used to have at summer camp?  Well, it’s not too late to relive all that joy again (no matter how old you are), but with a musical twist on the shores of Lake Berryessa, June 19 – 23, at Camp Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay.

For four magical days and nights, ukulele enthusiasts of all skill levels (including those who may never have played before) will be gathering at the Eco-Camp on the north shore of Lake Berryessa, for uninterrupted immersion into ‘ukulele instruction and general merriment.

Imagine the joy of a morning vocal wake-up while a family of river otters swims by the shore? Or the fun of playing and singing the tunes of Buck Owens, Hank Williams, Buddy Holly and the Beatles? And those a little more advanced can take up the 12th Street Rag, learn a few new jazz standards, or even learn to create their own, personal arrangements. And if you’re just starting out or still learning, camp offers a number of workshop sessions designed to build specific skills.

This year’s camp will also feature the “Uke Guru,” a mysterious being who will guide you seamlessly through the perplexing ways of the ukulele.

And don’t forget to bring your pool toys! The lake is full and we have plastic ukuleles available so you can share your ukulele joy in the open water. (Or use it as a paddle if you need to!)

There is still space available (bring your own tent or camper) at this year’s camp, but registration closes June 10. More information can be found on the camp’s website,

And if camping is not your thing, check out the other fine times you can have with an ‘ukulele at
