Dawn Delorefice was approved for the Winters High School Assistant Principal position by Trustees at the June 20 Winters Joint Unified School District board meeting. The position was posted from May 24 to May 30 on EdJoin and the Winters JUSD website. Four candidates were selected from a pool of 11 applications received. A panel of five members of Winters High School selected two candidates for a second interview with Superintendent Todd Cutler, Assistant Superintendent Sandra Ayon, Chief Business Officer Karen Peters and WHS Principal John Barsotti. Following reference checks, Delorefice was selected as the recommendation. Delorefice has 20 years of experience in Education, with the last six as a High School Assistant Principal for Willamette High School in Bethel School District in Eugene, Oregon. Delorefice has a Master of Education in Educational Policy and Management Education from the University of Oregon. She holds single subject credentials in English, Math and Social Science as well as her Administrative Credential. Barsotti said he is excited to welcome her to the WHS staff.
