Winters Jr Warrior athletes participated in a team-building run from the varsity field to downtown Winters on Thursday, Sept. 2.
The “Warrior Run” was the first they’ve ever done. It served multiple purposes including the promotion of the Winters Jr Warriors Football and Cheerleading programs, team building for the players, parents and coaches. They also wanted to get the community excited about their upcoming season since it has been two years since the athletes have been able to play.
The Winters Police and Fire Departments, The Kona Ice Shop and Pizza Factory all supported the run. Winters Police and Fire Departments provided traffic control. One of the players was heard saying, “I feel like a movie star with a police escort.” Kona Ice provided discounted shaved Ice and Pizza Factory donated pizza for the athletes.
