In her weekly update last Friday, City Manager Kathleen Salguero Trepa announced that lap swim times slots were available to the public beginning June 1. The 2021 lap swim season is scheduled to occur from June 1 thru Oct. 31. Lap swim is limited to an hour long session, once per day, and swimmers ages 16 or older must pre-register for their time slot online as early as two days in advance. A signed waiver, available on the sign up page, will be required in order to participate in lap swim. This season payment will be required at the pool during a swimmer’s check-in. Payments must be made with a debit of credit card. The pool is not accepting cash or checks this season. Available passes include: Monthly Pass ($50), Daily Pass ($5) or a 10-visit punch card ($40). The current lap swim protocol is as follows: -No un-registered swimmers will be permitted inside the pool area. -Two people are permitted to swim per lane. -Participants must bring their own equipment. -Restrooms will not be accessible for use as a changing room, and swimmers must come dressed and ready to swim. -Swimming sessions will end five minutes before the end of the reserved hour in order to clear the pool area and allow for staff to clean. -All swimmers must exit through the exit gate door by the bleachers. The lap swim schedule and protocol is subject to change after June 15 in which California is scheduled to reopen. While Winters High School is in session (until June 10) lap swim will be in the evenings. Anticipated lap swim times are Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Lap swim times on Saturday are from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 9 a.m until 11:15 a.m. For more information or to sign up for a lap swim visit, https://bit.ly/2SKKhtU.
