Details of the position and the Application of Interest are available on the city website, Completed applications can be mailed in, dropped off at City Hall, or emailed to City Clerk Ashley Bussart by May 30. Interviews with prospective commissioners will be scheduled from there. The Winters Planning Commission regularly meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Paul Myers, Planning Commission chair, said that if someone has strong ambitions, including elected office in the city, the planning commission is a good starting point. At the April 27 meeting he noted that many of the City Councilmembers have all gone through the Planning Commission. “That’s how they kind of learn how everything works. And then they are in a position to step up. Or, if you just want to be involved and give back to the city, this is a great place as well,” Myers said.
