Laura “Laurie” Ellen Patton-Brown, age 61, passed away peacefully at home March 6, 2021, surrounded by her 6 children. She was born on December 20, 1959, in Quincy, CA, to Jocelyn and Paul Schrum. Laurie was raised in Wheatland, CA, and spent her teenage years in Winters, CA, with her grandparents, Jim and Ellen West. Her mother Jocelyn graduated from Winters High School in 1959 and remained active in reunions. Laurie devoted her life and career to people with special needs. Although she cared for people of all ages, she specialized in children on the autism spectrum. The name of her business, Hope Unlimited, conveyed the unrelenting hope and compassion she gave to those in need. Her faith in the Word of God and her trust inJesus were her guiding lights. She was active in the church at Pioneer Presbyterian in Winters, where she sang played piano during services. She marveled in the changing of the seasons, sought wisdom in the trees, and saw beauty in the simple parts of life, from a cup of tea to the aroma of a freshly peeled orange. Most of all, she loved her family. Laurie is survived by her mother Jocelyn, brother Norman, and six children: Joanna (Jon) Davis, David (Christine) Patton, Cara (Tyler) Bryton, Stephanie Patton, Christopher (Elizabeth) Patton-King, and Daniel Patton. Her grandchildren include Charlie Bryton, Emerson Patton, Autumn Davis, Evie Patton, Meadow Davis, and Elizabeth Patton. Condolences to: www.smith-funerals.com
