The Winters community is uniquely caring and engaging, and for seniors that engagement is more important than ever. Isolation and food insecurity have profoundly impacted seniors in Winters, especially during the pandemic. While the pandemic has changed the way the Winters Senior Foundation interacts, it has not diminished their effort to reach the goals or their purpose. Enhancing the lives of seniors in Winters is the number one goal of the Winters Senior Foundation (WSF). The programs sponsored by the WSF will resume soon. When they do, they will again offer opportunities for socializing. Whether the programs are centered around learning about the mission of businesses in Winters and the surrounding area or just having fun, they welcome all adults from the Winters community to attend. From the spring luncheon to the ice cream socials; from their medical rides program to their Thursday game days; from supporting local seniors in need or enjoying a formal dinner, WSF is focused on gathering the senior community in a variety of ways. Ninety percent of our programs come at no charge to participants. Our senior-centered programs and activities are a lot of fun and largely dependent upon donations from our community. Join hands with a senior citizen of Winters by giving generously to the Winters Senior Foundation on the Big Day of Giving. Donations can be made now through May 6, at https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/wintersseniorfoundation/.
