Porchfest Winters announced in a social media post that the submission window for performers, volunteers and porch hosts was officially open on Tuesday morning.

The third annual Porchfest Winters musical event is scheduled to happen on Sept 19. The family-friendly event is open to all ages.

Porchfest Winters founder Sarah Madsen originally launched the first Porchfest Winters event in September 2018. The community was invited to  bring their lawn chairs, blankets, bikes and wagons to take a live musical stroll down Main Street. The first Porchfest features 25 live performances on designated porch stages along Main Street. Each porch featured music from solo string artists or music groups, including a full-on rock band and an acapella group.

Madsen said this year they are looking to open the event up to expand throughout the City of Winters, with events and food trucks along the original downtown Main Street location. She is currently looking into the logistics of what that will involve.

Porchfest Winters is a community event run by volunteers. In 2019 it also included an Arts Festival and donated proceeds to the local Winters Music Boosters organization.

Submission info

Interested individuals should select the “Volunteer” option on the Porchfest website to get access to the different categories.

Event coordinators ask that original bands and musicians apply to participate. However, this year they are also giving cover bands and performers an opportunity to appear in the lineup.

Porch Hosts should be able to provide space and electricity for the Performers scheduled to perform at the location. Applicants are able to provide limitations including the number of bands they’d like to host to how much capacity their yard and porch are able to support.

Community members can sign up to be a part of the Porchfest 2021 Volunteer Crew. Including students who are looking to fulfill community hours. Volunteer categories include: Street Closure, Information, Merchandise, Setup, Tear down and Student Roadie.

Food vendors are also able to submit an application to be present at the event with their food truck or food cart. Details and requirements are listed on the application.

Individuals or businesses interested in sponsoring or donating to the event should contact PorchfestWintersSponsors@gmail.com.

Regular updates about the event will be posted to the Porchfest Winters Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/porchfestwinters/. Details about the event and the Porchfest Submission Form are available online at http://porchfestwinters.com/.
