School district announces 2021 Excellence in Education, Salute to Educators award recipients

Winters JUSD Press Release The Winters Joint Unified School District is proud to announce the recipients of the 2021 Yolo County School Boards Association (YCSBA) Excellence in Education and Salute to Educator Awards. The Individual Excellence Award recipient is  Oscar Garcia, Administrator, Winters Middle School Assistant Principal. The Program Excellence Award recipient is the Robotics Club with Program Leader  Dianne Halsey, Winters High School Teacher, Winters Joint Unified School District. The Classified School Employee of the Year Award (CSEY) Clerical and Administrative Services recipient is Jill Shugart, Administrative Assistant, Winters Middle School. The Salute to Educators recipients are Elementary Grades K-6 Teacher Excellence Certificate: Inez Sanchirico, Reading Intervention Teacher, Waggoner Elementary; Secondary Grades 7-12 Teacher Excellence Certificate: Kelly Sacchi, Math Teacher, Winters Middle School; and Student Services Credentialed Excellence Certificate: Lizette Ortiz, School Counselor, Winters Middle School. The Association will honor these and other Yolo County recipients at a virtual awards event on Sept. 27. This annual recognition event, hosted by the YCSBA, recognizes individuals and programs that exemplify excellence in the pursuit and accomplishment of each school district’s governing board’s goals. Winters JUSD is proud of this year’s award recipients who represent the District’s vision of “Inspiring and Cultivating Pathways to Success.”
