The Winters Community Library has hosted 50 visitors since Yolo County Library began offering in-person appointments this month. Ruby Buentello, Interim Winters Library Branch Supervisor, said they currently are offering appointments for visits to the Winters Community Library three times a week. During a library visit the public may browse through books, use computers, make copies/fax and get assistance from library staff.  Currently, residents are allowed to only have one appointment per a week. A total of eight people max can be scheduled per hour. Buentello said family and friends can sign up for an appointment together, so long as maximum occupancy for the appointment time hasn’t been reached. The Winters library visit hours are:

  • Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Fridays from 11a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The community can schedule an appointment online through the Yolo County Library webpage or can call a Yolo County Library staff member to schedule their appointment by calling 530-666-8005.  Library staff answers phones Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on Saturday between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buentello said appointments may only be made one week in advance, and appointment availability beyond one week will not be visible online. “Library staff is excited to welcome the community back, we have truly missed interacting with everyone and can’t wait to have everyone browsing the shelves,” said Buentello. She also noted that as of April 1 all Yolo County Library branches are fine free for all. Buentello shared the following tips for library visits:

  • People may schedule one appointment per week and must schedule an appointment for each person coming if it is a group or family.
  • Computers are first-come-first-serve.
  • If staff is not already at the library doors to greet you, please knock on the doors when you arrive.
  • People who are going to pick up “holds” should continue to use the Curbside Service.
  • All returns should be put in the outside return slots before entering the library.
  • Everyone must properly wear masks and adhere to social distancing requirements.
  • Restrooms are not available to the public.
