Dear Emma, The 83rd Winters Youth Day is in the books!! The Youth Day Committee deserves a great big hand for a job superbly done.  With a couple thousand visitors to Winters, this committee of volunteers pulled off a great family day. They must be mentioned, because hard work like this cannot go unnoticed.  The 2019 Youth Day Committee consists of Carol Stone, Marie Heilman, Pat and Annie Riley, Theresa Pisani, Alice and David Rozman, Jude Kratzer, Bob Williams, and Kathy and Wade Cowan. Alice and David Rozman also ran the Kiddie Parade.  I stepped back in as Chairman after some health issues with our current chairman. Thank you to all of our sponsors who donated to this year’s celebration. Without their support, Youth Day would be a fading memory. I would like to thank some of the people who made the 83rd Youth Day Parade a big success.  My parade marshals are my saviors. Most of the volunteers have helped me with the parade for many, many years and I am truly grateful for the help.  These great people are Pat and Annie Riley, Bruce Guelden, Steve and Carmina Caselli, Ali and David Rozman, Theresa Pisani, and Diane Bosse. Paul Biasi ran the Car Show division this year as well. It’s a very hard job to coordinate over 120 entries and all these people made things run like a well oiled machine. Thank you goes out to you and the Winters Express for the fine coverage throughout the year; to Mariani Nut Company and Francisco Arellano for supplying our flatbeds; to Gwen and everyone at Anytime Fitness for the use of their power for our reviewing stand;, and to the fantastic Winters City crews for helping with everything from barricades to cleaning the horse trailer parking lot at Cody and Main. A special thanks to Katie Pelletier for singing the National Anthem at the reviewing stands. She has a true talent in singing! Also to our City Hall Announcer, Richard Kleeberg, a job well done! Well, with another Youth Day under the belt we look forward to next year’s 84th Youth Day Celebration. We will be starting in the fall with the planning of next year’s celebration and we will be asking for help in running several events.  Please consider helping and making sure Youth Day continues strong and proud!   Mike Sebastian, 2019 Youth Day Parade Chairman ]]>
