Ivett Arellano, a senior on the Winters High School swim team, is the Athlete of the Week. Arellano played a big role in the success of the girls team all season, and during the league championship meet she did the same.

“Ivett always comes to practice with a positive attitude, works hard, and is a motivator for her teammates,” coach Maya Tice stated. “It’s no surprise her teammates have elected her as co-captain for two seasons in a row. She’s humbly embraced her role as a leader and I’ve seen her grow tremendously this season. She had an impressive swim in the 100 butterfly, placing second, and led her 400 freestyle relay team to a second place finish at our championship.”

Arellano also took second in the 200 free and was on the 200 medley relay team that placed third.
