Kalyssa Grinbergs is Athlete of the Week

Kalyssa Grinbergs, a 12-year-old water skier, is the Athlete of the Week. Grinbergs starting skiing in the Monticello Ski Club at Lake Berryessa at age 10 and in the last two years has made tremendous improvements. She has reached one of her goals by running the slalom course for the first time, an accomplishment only few can claim.

Her coach Thad Summers says, “She is receptive to coaching and has a keen ability to apply what she has been told.” Grinbergs’ next goal is to increase her boat speed from 24mph to C-class competition boat speed of 30 mph. Her long-term goal is to attend a university with a competitive water ski team.
