The Winters Swim Team has started their season with an intra-squad meet that gave the coaches a chance to evaluate their swimmers in a competitive environment. Last Saturday, July 7, the swim team competed against each other at the Bobbie Greenwood Pool to help prepare them for the upcoming season.

Under the direction of coaches John Varley, Jacob Roberts, Jules Jiminez and Ivett Arellano the team looked impressive and ready to go.

As for the meet we had many swimmers drop times,” Roberts said, “but Tony Passantino and Emily Dodic stood out to us as they both dropped a significant amount of time. They are both hard workers and enjoy coming to practice and improving their strokes. Overall it was a great meet for everyone and especially more fun as it was an intra-squad meet so they had the opportunity to race just against each other instead of other teams.

Winters will host Arbuckle and Vacaville at Bobbie Greenwood Pool on Saturday, July 14, starting at 9 a.m.
