Warriors fall to Christian Brothers

It was a rough night against a tough team as the Winters High School varsity football team hosted the Christian Brothers Falcons on Friday, Sept. 22, in a non-league game and lost 51-6. The Falcons are one of the top teams in their Sac-Joaquin Section division and they showed why on Friday. The Warriors battled to the end and executed some good plays.

The Warriors used six different players to move the ball on the ground with quarterback Daniel Carrion leading the pack. Carrion carried the ball seven times for 84 yards and scored the Warriors’ only touchdown.

Carrion also completed nine of 21 passes for 65 yards. Dalton Lowrie rushed for 64 yards on 14 carries. Anthony Carrion carried the ball two times for 16 yards. Atlas Martinez had 14 yards on two carries. Jacob Pease carried the ball six times for seven yards and Thomas Kakutani had one carry for three yards. Kakutani also had three receptions for 22 yards, while Pease had two catches for 13 yards.

Jaime Garcia led the defense with eight tackles. Martinez and Gary Molina each had seven tackles. Kakutani had five tackles, Lowrie, Paulo Leal and Kohner Butts each had three, Daniel Carrion, Anthony Carrion, Logan Pittman and Josh Combs each had two tackles, while Devin Brown had one.
